The BKA mailing list is currently hosted by yahoo. This service is free for us to use, and as is usually the case is paid for by advertising; on the associated webpages (, on each email, and sometimes to members directly. Before this puts you off please read on.

There are 2 ways to join the BKA mailing list. If you would like to be marketed to (ie receive a LOT of unsolicited emails) click the link below

Click here to subscribe to the British Killifish Association

This will tke you to where you will be asked to set up a yahoo ID before joining. This involves filling in a number of forms. The default option is for you to be added to a whole array of mailing lists, and the only way to avoid this is to click the link 'edit my marketing preferences'. You can opt to receive no marketing emails

The second way is a lot more simple however may not be supported by yahoo indefinately. Simply send a blank email to, and follow the instructions in the reply

This mailing list is open to anybody interested in killifish, but is aimed primarily at UK keepers. Discussion may be geared specifically towards the BKA, or simply on killikeeping in general. You can read all old messages on the associated webpage, which also contains file upload space, shared bookmarks, and chat area
